This site is the brainchild of Majbrit and Joen Weidemann, the founders of the advertising agency SORT. Long before they met they each had a special thing for the colour black. This infatuation permeates both of their lives. The clothes and shoes in their wardrobes are nearly entirely black as are many of their other possessions. It's black's unique mix of timeless stylishnes, sharp functionalism and the ability to be both elegantly feminine and hardcore masculine that fascinates.
During a conversation between Majbrit and Joen one day came the idea of sharing this joy for black through the web. Here they could write about all the black things that they come upon and other people who share the passion could contribute. The reach was further extended when friends and business partners joined in and contributed with their own favorite black items.
The name of the site came naturally as one of their heroes Henry Ford's famous quote "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black."
And that is what this site is - a site about anything so long as it is black.
