Wire icons

Designer Jan Plechac has created wonderfully graphic steel wire chairs inspired by some of the most iconic chairs ever made.

With the Icon chair series Jan Plechac has taken some of the most iconic chairs and distilled their shape into wire outlines. The Louis 14 period chair, Gerrit Rietveld's 1917 Red Blue Chair, Eames' Walnut Stool, Josef Hoffmann's 1910 Kubus Chair and the more recent Fatboy all get the wire treatment. They take on a form that is both sculptural and graphical yet the essence of the designs remain.

I hope they make it into production.
