Random Poetry by Mads Nørgaard

The Random Poetry T-shirt project by Danish designer Mads Nørgaard is based on statements with a purpose. To execute the project he asked a number of Danish artists to contribute with a piece of lyrics, photo etc.

The first collection of Random Poetry will be in the spring collection 2010 and features the following contributers:

#1: TO BE BEAT
Lyrics by the Danish beat-poet Dan Turéll 1946 – 1993, ‘to be beat’. Contributed by Mads Nørgaard

#2: FEELINGS ARE FACTS
Lyrics by the American danser, choreographer and filmmaker, Yvonne Rainer, 1934.
Contributed by Danish – Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson

#3: WANTED TO PLAY FOOTBALL FOR THE COACH
Lyrics by the American singer and musician Lou Reed, 1942, from the album ‘Coney Island Baby’. Contributed by the Danish music producer af Maria Gerhardt, aka DJ Djuna Barnes

#4: I AM. SAY I AM YOU
Lyrics by the Danish poet Rumi, 1207 – 1273. Contributed by the legendary Danish singer and rock star Steen Jørgensen.

The collection is followed up by the high summer collection in shops from April 2010, featuring model Freja Beha as one of the contributers.
