While the Jil Sander fall 2009 ad campaign adds a black background and deep black shadows there is a certain deja vue feeling to it.
The team behind the campaing is the same: Willy Vandersperre is the photographer, Olivier Rizzo is the stylist and Natasha Poly models. Understandable as the spring 2009 was very good with beautifuly lit photograps on a bright white background and much sharper than the fall 2008 campaign.
For fall 2009 the background i black but poses, looks and crops are similar to spring 2009 and actually also similar to the fall 2008 campaign. Has the quest for consistency gone too far? Look at Natshas face. Yes she is beautiful, but the faces are scarily similar. Did they copy-paste the face?
Consistency is good, but copying?
