Fashion wunderkind Alexander Wang continues to impress with sharp designs in his very black Fall 09 collection hitting the shops right now.

Born and raised in San Fransisco Alexander Wang left for New York to pursue a carreer in fashion when he was 18. He was in his sophomore at Parsons year when he launched his first eponomous collection - a selection of perfect cashmere sweaters that caused a stir in the fashion industry and media.

Since then things have only accellerated for him. In addition to a full ready-to-wear collection he has launched 'T' - a collection of t-shirt-based garments all with a Wang twist.

His style has been described as 'model off-duty' and perhaps his friend and muse Erin Wasson is a source of inspiration.

Arriving in the shops right about now (late July 2009) is the Fall 09 Collection. It is nearly entirely black with elaborate layered leather jeackets, open-back studded croc jackets and moc croc leggings and tailored dresses with unusual graphical cuts.

Earlier this year he announced that he would reveal a collection for men (Spring 2010 ollection) in late July 09. That is now and I am waiting with bated breath.
