Mugler Menswear F/W 2011/12

The pictures for this collection was shot by the famouse photographer Tommy Ton from the street style blog, Jak & Jil.

During Mens fashion week in Paris, Nicola Formichetti presented his first show as creative director for Thierry Mugler. It was a show that was very awaited in Paris. Minutes before the show, the atmosphere was tens and filled with excitement.

The models on the runway had slicked back hair, rubber gloves and plastic elements melting into structured, elongated pieces. There were flowing veils covering the entire head and leather patchwork that looked like something a certain Lady Gaga would wear. And maybe that’s not all wrong because Formichetti has styled Gaga in Mugler costumes before.

This collection was defently better and stronger because some of the pieces on the runway were even wearable for us normal people. There were: skirts, turtlenecks and elegant, mature suits.  There were also baggy pants for those of you who are tired of skinny jeans and cigarette cuts.

Well-done Mr. Formichetti.
