On 15 September the collection of fashion icon Isabella Blow´s Alexander McQueen and Phillip Treacy creations will go under the hammer at Christie´s in London.
Among the pieces to be auctioned are also pieces by John Galliano and Manolo Blahnik. The sale will include 50 Treacy hats and 90 styles by McQueen, whose graduate collection Blow famously purchased. The auction will be accompanied by a coffee table tribute book to be published in September by Thames and Hudson.
Isabella Blow was known to de the discover and close friend of Alexander McQueen and the muse of Phillip Treacy whos hats became a signature part of her flamboyant style.
After several failed attempts at the age of 48 Isabella Blow committed suicide in May 2007 due to a long battle with depression leaving her husband Delmar Blow a widower.
“It is sure to be a landmark auction, providing as it will a fascinating insight and perspective on this great champion of young designers and avant-garde fashion,” a Christie’s statement said.
