To celebrate the royal wedding today we chose not to feature Kate and William, as they rarely wear black and are not really fashion forward, but the late Princess Di in the editorial from Vanity Fair published in 1997 just before she died. Photographed by Mario Testino.

She was as beautiful as any princess is expected to be and known to be a wonderful person at the same time. Princess Diana of Wales ( born Diana Frances Spencer) was loved by the British people and by royalists and non royalists all over the world. I was in London the day she died and I will never forget the grief that in a second filled the hearts of the British people.

In this black and white editorial "Diana Reborn" from 1997 she poses for Mario Testino. We love the warmth in her eyes and the beautiful imagery.

Today she will be missed.
