The Man Who Shot the Seventies

A travelling exhibit of the work by legendary rock and roll photographer Mick Rock brings back black memories.

Lou Reed is taking a walk on the art side hanging out with pop icon Andy Warhol, while David Bowie is looking androgynously gloomy as always on a solo picture. Being captured by the lens of Mick Rock is being perpetuated by the man who shot the seventies. That is proven in a new travelling exhibit by the American photographer, which premiered in New York earlier this month.

The exhibition includes photos of Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Madonna, Queen, Kate Moss, Joan Jett, Mick Jagger, and modern pop icons such as Lady Gaga, Ceelo Green and Janelle Monaie.

The photo exhibition by Mick Rock premiered at the W Hotel Downtown at Albany Street in New York on December 8th and will travel across the US in 2012.
