Tokyo based designer Ante Vojnovic created these black chairs and they´ve been on tour ever since.
Ante Vojnovic is a French designer and artist, who has been living and working in Tokyo since 1997.
He is normally busy watching things that does not exist and he approaches design with an intuitive feeling rather than an analytical one.
For this piece, Tango Variations, he made no sketches, just improvising, making curvy lines and shapes on wood and paper. Then he sawed them out and started to glue them together. The pieces turned out to be very human as they feel so alive in the way they appear to be bending and flexing, just like contemporary dancers.
When he finished making the chairs, he photographed them in a 360°angle. After watching the pictures on the computer and clicking around, he got really inspired and just wrote TANGO on a piece of paper. He saw them become alive and dancing!
