America by car

The master photographer Lee Friedlander opens the exhibibition America by car in June. The exhibition contains 192 black-and-white photographs, all taken from rental cars.

Lee Friedlander has travelled through most parts of USA in rental cars for 15 years, creating American travelogue from inside his car.

From June 8 to September the exhibition America by car will be exhibited at ’Det Nationale Fotomuseum’ in Denmark in connection with Copenhagen Photo Festival.

The America by car was published in 2010 by Fraenkel Gallery and D.A.P and has also been exhibited at Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and Timothy Taylor Gallery in London.
